CURRENTLY ACTIVE RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS
UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
University of Kentucky. This research activity involves collaborative efforts between Dr. Ligrani and Professor Savio Poovanthingal, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, of the University of Kentucky. The focus is on numerical predictions of non-continuum behavior with rarefaction slip effects when the Knudsen number is greater than 0.01. The environment, which is the subject of the predictions, is contained within a Viscous Disk Pump with substantial overall passage flow rates. Associated fluid flow characteristics are simulated using Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) numerical prediction tools.
